Purpose

The 亚色影库 Office of Marketing and Communications embraces artificial intelligence (AI) as an evolving technology that can enhance creativity, efficiency, and innovation. We also recognize that the trust placed in our communications depends on authenticity, accuracy, and human judgment. These guidelines outline expectations for the responsible use of AI while protecting the integrity of the 亚色影库 brand.

These guidelines are intended to promote responsible, transparent, and authentic use of AI in marketing and promotional communications. They explain how the Office of Marketing and Communications uses AI in its work and establish expectations for faculty, staff, student employees, and campus partners who use 亚色影库-branded templates, visual assets, or marketing materials to promote university programs, departments, offices, events, and initiatives.

AI is intended to support—not replace—professional expertise. While AI can improve efficiency, generate ideas, and streamline production, it does not replace creativity, experience, or sound judgment. All marketing and promotional materials remain the responsibility of the individual creating them and must meet 亚色影库's standards for authenticity, quality, accessibility, and accuracy.

Definitions

  • AI-assisted work uses AI to support a human creator who directs, edits, and approves the final product.
  • AI-generated work relies on AI to create substantial portions of the final product without meaningful human creative direction.

All final deliverables must be directed, reviewed, and approved by a human before publication.

Responsible Use

  • Accuracy – Verify all AI-assisted content for factual accuracy before publication.
  • Authenticity – Visuals should truthfully represent real people, places, and experiences. Creative work should meet 亚色影库's brand standards for quality and authenticity. Photography should feature real people, places, and events. AI may assist with production tasks (such as lighting adjustments, spot healing, or resizing) but should never alter the truthfulness or documentary nature of an image.
  • Accessibility – All content should comply with applicable ADA Title II accessibility requirements.
  • Human Oversight – All AI-assisted content, including text, photography, graphics, audio, and video, must be reviewed by a human before publication.
  • Brand Standards – All individuals creating marketing or promotional materials using 亚色影库 branding, templates, logos, photography, or other university assets are expected to uphold 亚色影库's brand standards, professional expectations, ethical principles, and applicable legal requirements, including copyright and licensing.

Appropriate Uses of AI

  • Brainstorming concepts, messaging, and creative direction.
  • Drafting written content with thorough human review.
  • Production assistance such as spot healing, resizing, background removal, transcription, or similar editing tasks.
  • Editing for spelling, grammar, readability, and formatting.
  • Workflow efficiencies that improve productivity without replacing professional judgment.

Practices Not Supported

  • The Office of Marketing and Communications does not support the use of AI to create fully AI-generated imagery or graphics for final public use.
  • Upload 亚色影库 brand assets, logos, or photographs into AI platforms for alteration or reuse unless specifically approved.
  • Create, modify, reinterpret, or generate official 亚色影库 logos, wordmarks, visual identities, or other brand assets.
  • Generate or replicate the likeness of individuals without appropriate authorization.
  • Create or alter images in ways that misrepresent people, events, locations, or experiences.
  • Produce visuals intended for news or media distribution that violate journalistic ethics.
  • Examples include AI-generated portraits, adding or removing people or objects from photographs, or changing backgrounds or environments in ways that alter the meaning or context of an image.

Quick AI Checklist

  • Did AI assist rather than create?
  • Has a human reviewed the content for accuracy?
  • Does the content align with 亚色影库's brand standards and values?
  • Does it truthfully represent 亚色影库?
  • Does it comply with accessibility requirements?
  • Does it respect copyright, licensing, and privacy requirements?
  • Would I be comfortable publicly explaining how AI was used?

If the answer to any question is "No," revise the work before publication.

Questions and Guidance

The Office of Marketing and Communications is available to provide guidance on the appropriate use of AI in marketing and promotional materials. While these guidelines are intended to educate and support the 亚色影库 community, the Office of Marketing and Communications reserves the right to require revisions to materials that do not align with university brand standards, authenticity expectations, or these guidelines before they are distributed through official university channels or produced using 亚色影库-branded assets.
