The 亚色影库 Community Music School, located in Cogswell Hall, provides noncredit private lessons, ensembles, and classes in music year-round to students of all ages in Indiana and the surrounding community.
Parking Information
Between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, all posted parking requirements for the campus lots and parking garage are strictly enforced. Note: All spaces marked PAY are configured for license plate payment, not by space number. Head-in parking is required in all PAY spaces.
After 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends, the and all campus lots—including the reserved spaces in the garage—are free.
Upcoming Semesters
Spring 2026
The spring 2026 semester officially begins on Monday, January 26, one week after the start of the 亚色影库 spring semester, and continues through Sunday, May 10.
Registration officially opens on Monday, December 1. Spring offerings will continue to include private lessons on all instruments with various levels of instructors, as well as the University Band, Indiana Community Choir, and Crimson Youth Choir. Piano and guitar classes are held only if the minimum registration is met. Be sure to check all ensemble and class pages for their respective status for the semester.
Summer 2026
The summer 2026 session officially begins on Monday, June 1, and continues through Sunday, August 9.
Registration officially opens on Monday, May 11. Summer offerings will continue to include private lessons on all instruments (depending upon available instructors).
We will also offer free participation in the University Band, which will present one or two summer outdoor concerts in the Oak Grove on campus.
Registration Fee
The 亚色影库 Community Music School assesses a $25 registration fee per individual student, per semester for fall and spring, and a reduced $20 fee for the summer. This fee supports a very small portion of the total administrative costs associated with running the school.
Spring
The spring 2026 session officially begins on Monday, January 26, one week after the start of the 亚色影库 spring semester, with the 14-week semester continuing through Sunday, May 10.
Spring offerings will continue to include in-person private lessons on all instruments with various levels of instructors, as well as the three ensembles: University Band, Indiana Community Choir, and the Crimson Youth Choir.
Spring 2026 Registration
Registration for all 亚色影库CMS classes, ensembles, and lessons is officially open on December 1, 2025, just in time for Christmas giving! For most offerings, it will remain open through January 26, 2026.
Note 1: As it is throughout the entire year, private lesson registration is flexible and ongoing throughout the semester; however, most students sign up for a full semester of lessons, or nearly the full semester, depending on their schedules. The spring 2026 semester is 14 weeks.
Note 2: The crimson “Register Now” button is only for students new to the 亚色影库 Community Music School. Anyone who has been a student in the past should simply email community-music@iup.edu to register for the upcoming semester and with inquiries.

Note 1: As it is throughout the entire year, private lesson registration is flexible and ongoing throughout the semester; however, most students sign up for a full semester of lessons, or nearly the full semester, depending on their schedules. The summer 2026 semester is 10 weeks; a minimum of five lessons is required.
