For Prospective Freshmen
- New nursing students are only considered for fall term admission. In order to be considered for nursing, students must meet minimum requirements for program admission. Students must have no less than a 3.25 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for program consideration. 亚色影库 has the discretion to recalculate GPAs from high schools with non-standard grading scales.

- Academic Support Services: The nursing curriculum includes many challenging courses. 亚色影库 offers walk-in peer tutors, special supplemental instruction tutoring sessions, and other support services that help students succeed and excel.
- All nursing students are assigned a nursing faculty advisor.
Information for Students Interested in Changing Their Major to Nursing
亚色影库 students applying to change their major to Nursing must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for a seat:
- 3.0 Overall GPA at the end of the semester
- 12 institutional credits
- A minimum grade of a “C” in one of the following required courses:
- BIOL 150 Human Anatomy
- or CHEM 103 Introduction to Chemistry for Health Sciences or CHEM 255 Biochemistry for Health Sciences
- or CHEM 101 College Chemistry I or CHEM 102 College Chemistry II
- or CHEM 111 General Chemistry I or CHEM 112 General Chemistry II
- Number of accepted students is based on seats available. Applications are reviewed four times per year—once final grades are posted at the end of fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters.
Please apply to change your major in the semester that you believe you will meet the requirements at the end of that semester.
Please note—even if a student meets the minimum requirements, they are not guaranteed a seat in the nursing program in the semester in which they apply. The number of students admitted is based on the number of clinical seats available. If a student meets the minimum requirements and is not offered a seat, they are encouraged to reapply the following semester. Priority consideration will be given to students who are repeat applicants.
Once admitted to the Nursing program, it will take at least six semesters to complete the degree. If a student does not meet the prerequisite requirements for the NURS courses, it will take longer. NURS courses cannot be combined. Students must take the NURS courses as outlined in the curriculum guide.

For Students Who Currently Have an LPN License
Individuals who already have an LPN license from an accredited, approved practical nursing program and would like to further their education to obtain a BS in Nursing could apply to this program. Along with having an LPN license, students must also have completed the following courses with a "C" or better in order to be admitted to the program:
- BIOL 150 (Human Anatomy)
- BIOL 240 (Human Physiology)
- CHEM 103 and CHEM 255 or CHEM 101 and CHEM 102 or CHEM 111 and CHEM 112
For Students Who Already Have a Bachelor's Degree (Second Degree)
Individuals who have already earned one bachelor's degree may be admitted to the university with advanced placement. To earn the second bachelor's degree, students must meet the remaining requirements for graduation specified for the Nursing program. Students must have the following courses complete with a minimum of a "C":
- PSYCH 215
- BIOL 150
- BIOL 240
- BIOL 241
- CHEM 103 and CHEM 255 or CHEM 101 and CHEM 102 or CHEM 111 and CHEM 112
Contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office for application information. In addition, the department chairperson is available to assist in the preliminary planning process for earning a second bachelor's degree and beginning a career as a registered nurse.
