Procedure:
Awards committee will make a call for nominations in early February. Committee will set the deadline for nominations and make a recommendation to the executive board at the same business meeting as the slate of candidates for nomination. The executive board will approve the final award recipient.

Nursing Research Grant
Criteria:
Membership in Zeta Lambda is required
Research must support the goals of STT
The award will fund either a nursing research project or a creative project that advances the utilization of nursing research.
Format of submission: a 1-3 page description of the project, single-spaced. The description should include a brief background of the project, methods, and the significance of the project (including risks and benefits if applicable). A brief budget proposal including an explanation of the line items in the budget should also be included but are not counted in the page total.
A final report should be submitted to the executive committee describing the outcome of the project and details of the budget expenses.
Recipient must meet with a representative of the Zeta Lambda executive committee to plan a presentation on the funded project at a Zeta Lambda Chapter meeting within one year of the date of distribution of the award.

Procedure:
Awards committee will make a call for papers in the summer chapter newsletter. Deadline for submission will be October 1 with a committee decision by October 30. Recipient will be notified in writing and the recipient will be announced at the next fall chapter meeting.

Judith Shoop Award
Criteria:
Undergraduate nursing major in the graduating class with the highest QPA
Award Cycle:
Annually at the department commencement ceremony
Procedure:
The chair of the awards committee shall secure from the counselor the student with the highest QPA. The chair will secure a check from the Zeta Lambda treasurer to be presented along with a certificate to the recipient at commencement.
The awards committee will send a letter to the Shoop family following commencement informing them of the recipient's name and thanking them for their support of this award.

Zeta Lambda Undergraduate Scholarship Award
Criteria:
Recipient is an undergraduate nursing student
Recipient is a student who achieves academic success as well as demonstrates leadership potential and contributes to the university and the community through service.
Student will submit an essay describing their leadership skills as a baccalaureate-nursing student. The essay should include a summary of community, university, and departmental service. Paper should be one page in length, typed, and single-spaced. Students should indicate which activities were part of a service learning requirement or project completed as part of the course requirement.
QPA of 3.2 or higher

Annually in the spring
Procedure:
A call for this award will go out in the spring through the counselor and will be awarded at commencement. The awards committee shall review all submissions and make a final decision.
The awards committee will secure a check from the Zeta Lambda treasurer to be presented along with a certificate to the recipient at commencement.
