Microsoft Copilot Chat
Microsoft Copilot Chat provides a secure AI chat experience for all 亚色影库 account holders signed in with their 亚色影库 Microsoft 365 computing account. A separate Microsoft Copilot license is not required to use the basic Copilot Chat experience. Copilot Chat includes web-grounded AI chat, file upload, image generation, Copilot Pages, and enterprise data protection.
What Can I Do with Copilot Chat?
Copilot Chat may assist with activities such as:
- Brainstorming ideas
- Creating a first draft
- Reorganizing or simplifying user-provided content
- Summarizing an uploaded file
- Developing an outline
- Comparing alternatives
- Creating questions for a meeting
- Identifying possible next steps
- Explaining a topic at a different level of detail
Copilot Chat is primarily grounded in information from the web. It does not automatically search all of a user’s organizational files, email, and chats through the general chat experience. Users can provide organizational content by uploading or explicitly referencing content.

Access Copilot Chat
- Visit
- Sign in with your 亚色影库 email address and password
- Look for the enterprise data protection green shield within the Copilot interface
- Enter a prompt into the chat box.
Microsoft provides two different AI experiences within Microsoft 365. Copilot Chat is broadly available and provides secure AI chat, file upload, and web-based assistance. Many users can take advantage of this no-charge version of Copilot Chat to do most of the generative AI that they wish. M365 Copilot is an additional licensed product that extends AI capabilities into Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint while helping users work with emails, meetings, documents, and other Microsoft 365 content they already have access to. Requesting a M365 Copilot License
For employees whose responsibilities may benefit from deeper integration with Microsoft 365 applications and institutional content, M365 Copilot licenses may be requested by entering an . M365 Copilot requires an additional per-user annual licensing cost. The requesting user must provide an office, department, or related cost center to cover the M365 Copilot license.
While IT Services does not determine whether a M365 Copilot license is appropriate for a particular role, employees are encouraged to consider how the tool aligns with a specific business need, operational objective, or productivity goal when submitting a request.
Examples may include employees who spend significant time working in Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, or SharePoint and could benefit from AI-assisted access to emails, meetings, documents, presentations, data analysis, and other Microsoft 365 content they already have permission to access.
