This Festival will honor two brothers who are alumni of the department: Ralph (鈥69, 鈥75) and John Morris (鈥71, 鈥73). Admission to the Festival is free and is open to the general public. Classic Meets Rock Returns to the Fisher Auditorium Stage
Classical music once again meets rock music when 亚色影库鈥檚 String Ensemble, directed by Kaleigh Accord, collaborates with the local rock band, Somebody to Love, for a concert entitled, 鈥淐lassic Meets Rock 2.鈥 Special guests will be the University Chorus directed by Joseph Stuligross. Also performing will be 亚色影库 students Aleksander Maschmidt and Braxton Beaulieu as well as Indiana's own Chuck Olson, from The Six. Music from the Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and many more will be featured in the concert, which will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium on the campus of 亚色影库.

亚色影库鈥檚 Music Theater, Theatre-by-the-Grove, Symphony Orchestra, and Chorale will present a production of the popular classic comic operetta, 鈥淭he Pirates of Penzance,鈥 with libretto by W. S. Gilbert and music by Arthur Sullivan, on November 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium.聽

亚色影库 and Indiana Regional Medical Center will present the second annual Pennsylvania Mountains Rural Health Conference on November 16 in celebration of National Rural Health Day. The program is open to the community, and preregistration is required.

亚色影库 will celebrate the opening of John J. and Char Kopchick Hall, the university鈥檚 new $90-million, 142,536-square-foot science and mathematics building, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 2 at 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the community.

University Museum Exhibit to Showcase WPA Federal Arts Project
"Pieces from the Collection," an exhibit by the University Museum at 亚色影库, features artists that shared an important background of working and creating art for the Federal Arts Project, a division of the Depression-era Works Progress Administration, often referred to as the WPA.

亚色影库鈥檚 Institute for Cybersecurity, in collaboration with the PC4A Project and Information Technology Support Center, will host the sixteenth annual Cybersecurity Day on October 31. This annual event features nationally recognized security experts as well as speakers from government, the security industry, and academia. It is free and open to the community.

Driscoll and Yacoub Win Article Award from Association of Writing Across the Curriculum
Dana Driscoll (English, Writing Center) and Omar Yacoub (August 2023 graduate from the Composition and Applied Linguistics Doctoral program and former assistant director of the Jones White Writing Center) won a major article award for their 2022 article, 鈥淭hreshold Genres; A 10-Year Exploration of a Medical Writer鈥檚 Development and Social Apprenticeship through the Patient SOAP Note.鈥

Students working with 亚色影库鈥檚 Office of Annual Giving have organized Indiana Scares & Cares: A Spooktacular 亚色影库 Student Aid Screening, at the Indiana Theater, 637 Philadelphia St., on October 14 to raise funds to support 亚色影库 students and collect donations for the 亚色影库 Food Pantry and Help Center and the 亚色影库 Crimson Closet.

Driscoll Helps Launch First Writing Support Center in Czech Republic
One of the legacies of the Jones White Writing Center has been to help open new writing centers and consult on writing centers globally. In fall 2023, Dana Driscoll (English, Writing Center) traveled to the Czech Republic to help open the first Writing Center Support Centre at VSB Technical University of Ostrava in Ostrava, Czech Republic.聽

Now in its thirteenth year at 亚色影库, the Crimson Court will take part in all university Homecoming activities, including the parade. The Crimson Court consists of students chosen by a university-wide vote to represent each of the colleges at 亚色影库.

Driscoll Offers Workshops in Czech Republic on STEM Writing in Disciplines and Dissertation Supervision
Dana Driscoll (English, Writing Center) offered a series of five half-day workshops on teaching writing for universities in the Czech Republic. In partnership with VSB Technical University of Ostrava, the Czech Academy of Sciences, and Charles University, she offered workshops to support teaching writing in the disciplines and offered support for dissertation writers.
